Bittersweet: Rise & Fall of Sugar Factory

Bittersweet, by Marc-Ivan O'Gorman — for Culture Night, join us for the launch of Bittersweet, an impressionistic radio documentary on the rise and fall of Carlow Sugar Factory. Former employees, beet growers and the wider community are invited to gather, share memories, and hear excerpts from a programme that evokes the factory's story through voice, music and atmosphere. 5pm, Friday 18th September, Carlow Museum, College St, Carlow. Produced on behalf of the Carlow County Council Commemorations Committee, supported by the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport.
